How to reach Bressanone

By plane + train

Closest airports:

Innsbruck, Austria (80 Km);
Milan, Italy (330 Km);
Munich, Germany (260 Km);
Venice, Italy (330 Km);
Verona, Italy (180 Km).


Arrival at INNSBRUCK airport: take the bus shuttle to the railway station (INNSBRUCK Hbf) and then the train to BRIXEN (BRESSANONE) via BRENNERO. Train timetable: approximately one train every 45 min, 1.5 h average trip duration.

Arrival at MILAN airport (Malpensa or Linate): take the bus shuttle to the central railway station (MILANO/STAZIONE CENTRALE) and then the train to BRESSANONE via VERONA. Train timetable: approximately one train every hour, 4 h average trip duration.

Arrival at MUNICH airport: take the metro S1 or S8 to the central railway station (MUNCHEN Hbf) and then the train to BRIXEN (BRESSANONE) via INNSBRUCK/BRENNERO. Train timetable: approximately one train every two hours during day time, 3.5 h average trip duration.

Arrival at VENICE airport: take the bus shuttle to VENEZIA/MESTRE railway station then the train to BRESSANONE via VERONA. Train timetable: approximately one train every hour, 3.5 h average trip duration.

Arrival at VERONA airport: take the bus shuttle to VERONA/PORTA NUOVA railway station and then the train to BRESSANONE. Train timetable: approximately one train every two hours during day time, 2 h average trip duration.

Bressanone can also be reached flying to MILAN-BERGAMO, BRESCIA and VENICE-TREVISO ). These airports, as well as the one in Verona, are connected to many European cities by low-cost airlines such as Ryanair, Transavia and others. All these airports are connected to the central railway station of the closest city by a shuttle bus. They also provide several rental car possibilities onsite.

By car
Take the tollroad MODENA/BRENNERO (A22, toll): the best exit is BRESSANONE SUD.
Italian highways require a toll: a ticket will be automatically issued to the driver when entering the highway and payment is required when leaving the highway. Major credit cards can be used in automatic machines in the lane marked 'FastPay' or 'Viacard' or by asking the highway clerks at the attended booths.
